Thank you for your enquiry. It is possible to operate this configuration with only one power source. However you would need to enter in new settings between the cleaning and the plating stage for each job. This is time consuming and adds in more potential for error, thus putting your work at risk of spoiling.

@@SpaPlatingUK ok, thank you, So what is the difference between the Volts and amps that the cleaning needs and the gold plating needs ?

@@beaujangles02 The volts, or the pressure to put it mechanical terms, pushes the amps, or the flow of electrons, through the circuit. Cleaning doesn't require an accurate measure of amps however plating does. For example, if the amps are too low, the work can come out dull and if they're too high, the work can burn. The amps need to be worked out by estimating the surface area of your work then using our online calculator.

@@SpaPlatingUK Yes I’m aware that I need to work out the correct Volts and Amps for plating, but there is conflicting information on what is required for cleaning, the bottle say 4-6 volts but one of the video 2-3v… does that mean I can use some simple batteries for my cleaning?

From a safety point of view, I wouldn't recommend using batteries as a high current may flow causing the batteries to overheat.

Thank you i see in video u plating zinc piece can this solution plate stainless steel or other steel as well ?

@@fragfire123 If plating onto stainless steel, I would recommend a nickel strike or gold strike first. This solution can be plated directly onto steel however, as the plated layer is very thin, it will not protect the steel from corrosion. Steel should be plated with protective layer of nickel first, then black nickel plated.

Thank you for your enquiry. If the surface you are plating on isn't shiny then the deposit won't be shiny either.

The best adhesion is obtained when you tank plate nickel after the zincate dip. If brush plating, the adhesion will not be as good. The coating should hold temperatures of up to 150 centigrade, but some bubbling may or may not occur due to desorption of hydrogen absorbed during the zincate/nickel plating process.

Sorry for the late reply! Whether it is matt or shiny is dependent on the quality of the surface you're plating on to; if the surface is matt the plate will be matt, if shiny the plate will be shiny.

Chains can be quite difficult to estimate depending on the shape and number of links. One way is to estimate the surface area of a single link in square centimiter then multiply this buy the number of links in the chain. So if a single link is has a diameter of 1mm (0.1cm) and length of 4mm (0.4cm) then the single link = Pi x diameter x length = 3.14 x 0.1 x 0.4 = 0.13 square centimeters. If there are, for example 200 links in the chain, the surface area = length of single link x number of links = 0.13 x 200 = 26 square centimeters.
